Agarose Molecular Grade

Agarose optimal for analytical and preparative purpose. It is a very low electroendosmosis agarose. Provides superior separation. Ideal for plasmide preparation, PCR fragment analysis as well as cloning.

Hybridization Solution 200mL

Solution hybridization is designed to measure the levels of a specific mRNA species in a complex population of RNA. An excess of radioactive probe is allowed to hybridize to the RNA, then single-strand specific nuclease is used to destroy the remaining unhybridized probe and RNA.

For no toxic hybridizations 200ml

Formamide is the preferred solvent to lower the melting point and annealing temperature of nucleic acid strands in in situ hybridization (ISH).

Maleic Acid Buffer 10x, 250mL

Maleic acid buffer is commonly used for Southern blot preparation and as a washing buffer in numerous applications involving nucleic acids. It has a shelf life of 6 months to a year. Prepare 800 mL of dH2O in a suitable container. Add 116.1 g of Maleic Acid to the solution.

Blockin solution for hybridization

In situ hybridization (ISH) blockers are reagents for minimizing non-specific binding and unwanted background signals. Examples include DNA from calf thymus, salmon sperm, and herring sperm, which are used in pre-hybridization and hybridization solutions.

Depurination Solution (2X)

This solution is a weak acid that, when utilized, results in partial depurination of DNA used in Southern transfers. The application of this solution is recommended when target DNA fragments exceed 15 kb in length. Sigma's Depurination Solution is for laboratory use only. Not for drug, household or other uses.

Neutralization Solution (2X)

A neutralization reaction is when an acid and a base react to form water and a salt and involves the combination of H+ ions and OH- ions to generate water. The neutralization of a strong acid and strong base has a pH equal to 7.
